Knowing Jesus Christ
Knowing Jesus is the best
decision a person can make. You do not need a college degree to get to
know Him. You do not need to be rich or famous to be His friend. You
do not need to be perfect or even quit all your bad habits to come to
Him. You can simply come to Him just the way you are right now. He
said, "Come to me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will
give you rest . . . for My yoke is easy and My burden is light."
(Matthew 11:28-30)
God wants you to accept His free gift of salvation. 2 Peter 3:9 says
that, "The Lord is not slack
concerning His promise . . . but is longsuffering toward us, not
willing that any should perish, but that all should come to
repentance." He wants to be a Father to you, to give you love, wisdom,
and blessings, so you can live a successful life.
These are the steps
you will need to take in order to have a personal relationship with
Jesus Christ:
Step 1: Realize
Realize and admit that you are a sinner. Recognize that you will never
be able to do enough to earn God's forgiveness for your sin, and that
He wants you to accept it as His gift to you. (Romans 3:23; Romans
6:23)
Step 2: Believe
Believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and that He loves you
enough to have died for you. Believe that His death guarantees your
forgiveness and eternal life. (John 3:16; Acts 16:30-31

Step 3: Repent
Repent of your
sins. Ask God to forgive you and because of Jesus’ death on the
Cross, He will. Then, sincerely choose to turn away from sinful
thoughts, words and actions. (Acts 3:19; 1 John 1:1)
Step 4: Open
Open your heart to Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. Accept His
love for you and decide to let Him be in charge of your life. (Romans
10:9-10; Revelation 3:20)
Pray this prayer
Dear God, thank You for loving me enough to send Jesus Christ, your
only Son, to die on the cross and pay for my sins. I know He died for
me and that He rose from the dead, so that I might also have eternal
life in heaven with You. I now ask Jesus to come into my heart and be
the Lord of my life. I ask you to help me turn away from my sin and to
help me live the way you want me to from this day on. In Jesus Name.
Amen.
Now what?
Romans 10:13 promises that, "Whoever calls upon the name of the Lord
shall be saved," so believe that you are indeed saved now. You are
clean and new to Him and your sinful past is gone forever. (2
Corinthians 5:17)
