The
purpose of the
Women of
Virtue women's ministry is to encourage women
to become enthusiastic disciples of Jesus
Christ, lovingly relate
to one another, and provide an opportunity for women to realize
their full potential and discover a
place of rest in the context of their busy
lives.
Our goal is to encourage, nurture and disciple women
in the following four areas:
-
LOOKING UP
- growing in their relationship with God through worship, Bible
study and prayer
-
LOOKING IN
- developing women as emotionally healthy, productive and
fulfilled individuals and growing them in their sense of identity
and self-worth through practical teaching and accountability
-
LOOKING AROUND
- growing relationships with other Christians through fellowship
activities
-
LOOKING OUT
- growing their witness and ministry effectiveness through service
opportunities.
We accomplish these goals through five equipping and
outreach events:
1. Small
group bible studies
2. Focused
support groups
3. Creative
fellowship meetings
4. Annual
retreat
5. Special
events

Small Groups
Women of Virtue
small groups will provide
koinonea, intimate spiritual fellowship with Christ through his
presence in all of us. The unique goals of all-female small groups
are the healing and individual growth of each woman and the bonding
of women in our church. This leads to church growth through the
increased spiritual health and confidence of our women and the
congregation as a whole. Small groups will prepare ZOE Embassy Women
of Virtue to move in the same direction in the future.
The specific goals of Women of Virtue small groups
include:
-
Provide a healthy, safe place for
women to: heal, be nurtured, grow spiritually, gain confidence,
learn to pray with others, learn leadership skills, test their new
skills, discover their gifts and find their ministry.
-
Strengthen
their own spiritual identity (which may have been their husband's
identity)
-
Find
acceptance as a Woman of God
-
Connect
the Women of ZOE members
-
Mentor
each other as only women can for women.
These groups offer:
-
A
supportive place to share the path of spiritual growth with
other women
-
A
place where you can share your struggles openly and
confidentially
-
Receive support, encouragement and prayer for you and your
spouse
-
Participate in a bible study that meets your particular needs

Inside Out:
A
Journey Toward Self-Discovery
God has made every woman unique.
Exceptional, highly valued, made for a particular purpose.
God has placed in all women the need for self-confidence and
esteem, two characteristics widely recognized as the basis for
successful behavior.
Recognizing this need for self-confidence, individual respect,
worthiness, and esteem, each
Inside Out
session uses a biblical prospective, designed as an in- depth way
to begin to understand yourself and others. Identifying your
character becomes an invaluable tool for enjoying success in your
Christian walk as well as with family and personal relationships.

The 7-Up's
1. Wake Up !!
Decide to have a good day. "Today is
the day the Lord hath made; let us rejoice and be glad in it."
Psalms 118:24
2. Dress Up !!
The best way to dress up is to put on a
smile. A smile is an inexpensive way to improve your looks. "The Lord
does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at outward
appearance; but the Lord looks at the heart."
I Samuel 16:
3. Shut Up!!
Say nice things and learn to listen.
God gave us two ears and one mouth, so He must have meant for us to do
twice as much listening as talking. "He who guards his lips guards his
soul." Proverbs 13
4. Stand Up!!...
For what you believe in. Stand for
something or you will fall for anything. "Let us not be weary in doing
good; for at the proper time, we will reap a harvest if we do not give
up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good..."
Galatians 6:9-10
5. Look Up !!...
To the Lord. "I can do everything
through Christ who strengthens me".
Philippians 4:13
6. Reach Up !!...
For something higher. "Trust in the
Lord with all your heart, and lean not unto your own understanding. In
all your ways, acknowledge Him, and He will direct your path."
Proverbs 3:5-6
7. Lift Up !!...
Your Prayers. "Do not worry about
anything; instead PRAY ABOUT EVERYTHING." Philippians 4:6
A POSITIVE THOUGHT:
If God had a refrigerator, your picture would be on it. If He had a
wallet, your photo would be in it. He sends you flowers every spring,
and a sunrise every morning. Whenever you want to talk, He'll listen.
He could live anywhere in the universe but He chose your heart. What
about the Christmas gift He sent you in Bethlehem; not to mention that
Friday at Calvary. Face it, He's crazy about you.
